Thomas Eagan Obituary

EAGAN CWO Thomas J. Eagan, ret., passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 of natural causes in Metairie, LA. Tom was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather whose wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was 84 years old and was married to Shirley Reach Eagan for 58 years. Tom was born in New Orleans, LA on September 1, 1922 to the late Stella Voelker and Percy Eagan. He retired from the Army with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer having served in World War II in Germany. At the time of his retirement he was assigned to the 377th Corp Support Command. Tom was a volunteer for over 20 years with East Jefferson Hospital where he taught 55 Alive driving classes for Elder Advantage. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Reach Eagan; his daughters: Shelley E. Schellhaas and Sharon E. Reuter; and his granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Reuter all of Metairie, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Arthur Thomas Schellhaas. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 12:00 noon. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation on Saturday from 9:00 until 12:00 noon.
