Thomas Fox Obituary

Thomas Aloysius Fox III was born on September 17, 1960 in New Orleans, the second child of Martin Behrman Fox, Sr. & Beverly Theresa Schell Fox. Thomas died at home on the morning of July 28, 2021, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Thomas was disabled and spent the first ten years of his life in the tender loving care of his grandmother, Ruby Walsh Fox. He did not finish middle school, but despite limitations, worked in sanitation for the City of New Orleans. Despite all his struggles in life, Thomas was mostly gentle and cheerful; he had a pleasant sense of humor and a knack for making other people smile. He really enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: eating, listening to music, meeting and greeting new people and spending lots of time in the company of family and friends. Thomas never married and has no children. For most of his life he has been lovingly cared for and doted on by his mother, Beverly-most especially during his illness with cancer. Thomas demonstrated great fortitude in his battle with cancer and showed to the rest of the family what it means and what it takes to become 'great' in the eyes of God-that is to become a Saint. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Martin B. Fox, Sr. and his grandparents, Ruby Lucille Walsh Fox and Thomas A. Fox, Sr., Vincent John Schell, Sr. and Santa Maria Villafranco Schell Attaldo. He is survived, loved and cherished by his mother, Beverly, older sister Terrilynn Marie Fox Quillen (husband William), younger brother Martin B. Fox, Jr., nephew Francis A. Quillen and niece Kellene Quillen Mirowski (husband Alexander), numerous cousins and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial and funeral services for Thomas were private. In lieu of ordinary expressions of condolences, please pray for Thomas, his family and for the many people living with developmental disabilities and for their caregivers. Caring for the vulnerable like Thomas is a great privilege; may God grant courage and strength to all the families who care for their loved ones with chronic illnesses or disabilities.

Tommy was a sweet, gentle soul. He was so very nice and kind. He was gone to soon. I dearly wish he could have lived longer. He will aways be loved and remembered. He is now with some of his other relatives. He may be gone but he will NEVER be forgotten.
Rest in Peace dear loved one.
Aunt Marie will ALWAYS remember you.
