Thomas Lamarque Obituary

Thomas "Tommy" Raymond Lamarque of Kenner, LA entered eternal rest in the early hours of Saturday, May 14,2022 at the age of 68. Tommy was born on October 22, 1953, in New Orleans to Anthony S. Lamarque and Marie DiGerolamo Lamarque. He and his twin brother, Timmy, were the youngest of seven growing up in a shotgun house at 612 Mehle St. in Arabi, LA. Tommy, along with the rest of his brothers, was an ardent baseball player and his love for the sport followed him his whole life. Tommy graduated from Chalmette High where he earned All State Honors as a catcher, and went on to college at the University of Lafayette and ultimately earned his bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans in Business and Communications. Tommy worked many jobs, but his main passion was sales, particularly car sales. He worked at Bill Watson Ford, and later became a manager at Bailey Lincoln. At the young age of 27, Tommy began working with his big brother Ronnie helping to create an automotive masterpiece: Lamarque Ford. He would spend the next 41 years selling cars at "The Big Store in Kenner". Tommy wore many hats during his employment at Lamarque including Vice President of the company for 25 + years, Used Car Manager (one of the best if not The Best) and General Manager. Tommy was admired and loved by many. Along with his many achievements, one of his biggest accomplishments was marrying the love of his life, Janell Leaber Lamarque on July 4, 1984. Together they had three daughters, Jennifer Lamarque, Jessica Lamarque Ranatza (Randy) and Jade Lamarque. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Destiny Lamarque and Gia Ranatza; one great-granddaughter, Adaleigh Marallo; his twin brother, Timmy Lamarque (Pam); two other brothers, Dennis Lamarque (Maria) and Ronnie Lamarque (Natasha); a sister-in-law, Betty Lamarque (Anthony) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Tommy is reunited in death with his mother, Marie Lamarque and father, Anthony Lamarque; his beloved and only sister, Joann Lamarque Luke; his brother-in-law, Charlie Luke; two brothers, Anthony "Butsey" Lamarque and Emile "Bubby" Lamarque (Kathy), his mother-in-law, Lorraine Leaber and his father-in-law, Albert Leaber and a sister-in-law, Melanie Leaber Dupre in addition to best friends, Kent Perniciaro and Billy Corrales. Tommy's life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy. in Kenner, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am. Tommy was a wonderful salesman and we purchased many of new and used autos from him. In fact I am still driving a 2012 Highlander my daughter purchased from him. He is greatly missed and was one of a kind.

I was stunned to find out about Tommy's passing. I am so sorry for the loss this is to the Lamarque family. I got to know Tommy more than 50 years ago as I would often play baseball or football, often in my cousin Jeff's side yard with them. Tommy was a great guy, and a true friend. Well, I'm sure Jeff was there to meet him and they'll arrange some sandlot games in Heaven. God bless all the family and Tommy, Requiescat in pace! --- Don

I didn´t know Tommy personally but remembered him always, as well as Timmy, the faithfulness of their love and friendship to Billy, as well as later to our Dad. He was remarkable in keeping Bill going through the years. Dad´s association with Lamarque´s breached the gap and helped him heal.
Praying your own healing, sometimes a long road traveled, will be shortened by a life well-lived and love well-expressed.
My deepest sympathy to the entire family.

Bought 10 cars from the Lamaque's at Bill Watson Ford. The last 2 I bought from Tommy. What a nice guy. The last one I bought, he even delivered it to a location nearby. So sorry for the family.
