Thomas W. Hammond Obituary

Thomas W. Hammond, 67, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

Thomas (Tom) was born in New York, N.Y. on Oct. 5, 1945, to Wilfred John and Bergit Amelia (Lund) Hammond. He attended school at Queen of the Holy Rosary, Bishop Miege, and Emporia State University. Tom began his career as a sales rep for White Stag. He ended his career as the owner of a custom interior finishing business, working in Naples, Fla., and China.

Tom's silver-white hair earned him the nickname "Silver Fox." He had an infectious laugh, playful personality, and frequently donned all-white attire.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include three brothers, Edward (Mary) Hammond of Hays, Kan.; Phillip (Jody) Hammond of Lenexa, Kan.; James Hammond of Gainesville; eight nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
