"When yu comin' to New Awwlins Leeeesa?" That question was asked each and every time I ever saw or talked to Uncle Spud. His door was always open to everyone. Mom said that there were so many people who talked about how he raised them and how he touched their lives. What better words would anyone want said about them when they die than to say that you were an influence on the life of so many people. His wit

Many cherished memories of Spud are tucked down deep in my heart, especially the memories of when we were kids playing in Aunt Eunice's yard near Hatcher,AR. In later years when I talked to him, he always had a smile on his face. I have no doubt that he is smiling in Heaven like he always smiled when he was here with us. My prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
