Virgilene Fitzpatrick

Virgilene (Virgie) Fitzpatrick, at the age of 94, went to be with her God on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Homer Easley and Gladys Connolly Easley. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Fitzpatrick of Metairie LA; her son, Kevin Fitzpatrick (Patrice) of St. Louis MO and her sisters, Jeannine Dooley and Dianne Twyford (Bill), both of Highland IL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virgie resided in Metairie for the past 25 years and previously lived in St. Louis MO for 50 years. Her career was always in the food service industry until she moved to Metairie, where she worked for the Jefferson Council on Aging for over 20 years. She loved her family, dear friends and her special puppy dog, Terri. She was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved attending the New Orleans Pelicans games and thoroughly enjoyed going to the Fair Grounds to watch the races. Virgie was also devoted to her faith, and until recent years, was very active in the ministries in her parish church, St. Catherine of Siena. In 2000, she received the St. Louis Medallion for her devoted service. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 12:30 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd. in Metairie LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will be private in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses, a donation to the Louisiana SPCA, la-spca.org or Routt Catholic High School, 500 East College Ave., Jacksonville IL 625650 where Virgie was a proud 1938 graduate are preferred.
