Vivian Pierce Fossier Hoskins

1923 - 2024

With great sadness our family announces the death of Vivian Pierce Fossier Hoskins on Monday, March 25 in Atlanta, Georgia. Vivian was born July 14, 1923 in Timmons, Ontario Canada. She was born to Irene Carswell Pierce and her father William Isaac Pierce. She was predeceased by her sister Trilby Pierce Swenson. She was married and widowed by Albert Fossier and her second husband Colonel Harry Hoskins. Vivian is survived by her beloved daughter, Virginia F. Brooks (husband, Jimmy) and her grandson, Albert Pierce Brooks (Hannah), all of Atlanta, GA. She was extremely proud of her great-granddaughter, Addylyn Brooks, a light in her life. She is also survived by her dear stepson Larry Hoskins and his partner Jim Wildermuth. Vivian was a long-time realtor in New Orleans with Latter and Blum where she was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar club, specializing in the Uptown and Lakefront and areas. She held memberships in the Orleans Club and was a life member of The Petit Salon where she was proudly their oldest member. After moving to Atlanta after Katrina, she became an avid bridge player and had several groups she participated in. Her bridge friends spanned all ages and were a source of joy for her. The family would like to thank her longtime caregiver Martha Brown for her unselfish care and devotion. Vivian was very fond of The Gary Sinise Foundation and their work with veterans and donations may be made in her name there. The family would like to invite family, friends and any real estate cohorts to a celebration of life at The New Orleans Country Club, 5024 Pontchartrain Blvd., NOLA on Sunday, April 28 at 2:00 pm in the Founders Room. We celebrate a life well lived and raise a toast in her honor.
