Vivian Sylvia Obituary

Vivian S. Sylvia, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Sylvia. Daughter of the late Marcella Saacks and George Schenck. Mother of Connie Hannigan (the late Robert); Sharon Sylvia, Cynthia Cooley, Cathy Patten (Max); Kenneth Sylvia (Pam); David Sylvia (Lisa Alphonso); Carol Labat (Kevin); and the late Tina Sylvia. Sister of Charles, Herbert, Eugene, Edward Schenck, the late George and Paul Schenck, Lena Platz and Louise Schwartz. Survived by 22 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 19 step great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Hannigan. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Chalmette, Mrs. Sylvia worked as a cashier most of her life, a housewife, and went on to miscellaneous jobs until the age of 80. She will be deeply missed and her love will forever remain in our hearts. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Services at St. Vincent de Paul #1 Cemetery, 1401 Louisa Street, New Orleans, La., on Monday, June 22, 2015, at 11: 00 AM. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Vivian S. Sylvia memorial burial account at any Capital One Bank. You're contribution will be greatly appreciated.
