Walter Sinclair Obituary

SINCLAIR Walter 'Guy' Sinclair, Jr. a long time New Orleans resident died at the age of 76 on February 24, 2004. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. After serving in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He graduated from Texas A&M College with dual degrees in Geology and Petroleum Engineering in 1948. He was a member of the Texas A&M Marching Band. After graduation he was employed by The Gulf Oil Company for 22 years as a Petroleum Engineer. In 1972 he joined the Atwater Consultant, Ltd Firm and retired as Senior Vice President, Secretary and Director of the firm in 1992. Mr. Sinclair is a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. He holds professional memberships in the society of Petroleum Engineers of Aime, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, American Petroleum Institute and The New Orleans Geological Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. G. and Margie Sinclair of Wichita Falls, TX, a son, Patrick Guy Sinclair of New Orleans and a grandson Justin Guy Sinclair of Taos, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Frances C. Sinclair of New Orleans, a son, Michael D. Sinclair of Paducah, KY, a daughter, Kelly Sinclair O'Reilly of Lafayette, Colorado. His grandchildren, Shawn and Stephanie Everitt and a great grandson, Tyler Guy Everitt of Overland Park, KS. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bridge House in New Orleans. JACOB SCHOEN AND SON in charge of arrangements.
