Wayne Patrick Bosarge

1943 - 2024

Wayne Patrick Bosarge, age 80, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. A lifetime resident of Harahan, LA, he was the devoted husband of the late Lenora Pratt Bosarge, who was the love of his life for 52 years, and the proud father of their three children: Amanda Bonnecarrere (Lee), Matthew Bosarge, and Kendra Chong (Ricky). He was the beloved grandfather of 7 grandchildren: Ryan Bonnecarrere (Bridget), Ricky Chong Jr. (Tina), Renee Chong, Crystal Chong, Leah Jeffrey (Lee), Brittany Bosarge, and Brett Bosarge, and grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren: Henry, Eleanor, Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary, Abigail, Graci, Lili, Brayden, Samuel, Mason, Charlee, Jase, London, Evangeline, Theodore and Brady. Wayne was born on September 9, 1943, in New Orleans, LA to the late Mitchell Oliver Bosarge and Mary Boros Bosarge and is survived by his 4 siblings: Mary Lou Gebhardt (Ed), Brian Bosarge (Susan), Randy Bosarge (Margaret), and Tracy Bosarge (Ruth). He also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Throughout his life, Wayne worked as a production supervisor at Rheem Manufacturing Co. in Jefferson Parish for most of his career. After retiring, he managed a Major Video store and later began delivering flowers for Janice's Flower Shop in Harahan. He was a devoted sports fan, especially of the New Orleans Saints. He had a lifetime love for music and was a voracious reader and history buff! He enjoyed traveling, experiencing different cultures, and gardening with his wife. He also deeply loved his pets and was compassionate toward all animals. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial services on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a Mass at 10:00 am followed by inurnment in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
