William "Bill" Appel Sr.

William "Bill" Appel Sr., age 70, entered eternal peace in Heaven on March 17, 2017. Born May 24, 1946, Bill was born and raised in New Orleans, but lived and loved most of his life in Metairie. Bill is preceded in death by his father, James Appel Sr., mother, Marion Barfield Appel, daughter, Courtney Appel and brother, John Appel Sr. A funny, loving husband, brother, father and grandfather is survived by his devoted wife, Janice McWilliams Appel, his son, Bill Appel Jr. (Shari) and their two children, his daughter, Shannon Appel Deemer, (Brent Jr.) and their four children; brother, James Appel Jr., nephew, John Appel Jr. and two grandnephews, his brothers-in-law, Bill McWilliams (Myrtis) and John McWilliams, his sister-in-law, Gloria Silva and also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, La and the visitation will begin at 11 am until service time.
