William George Obituary

William H. "Tim" George passed away on April 27, 2018. He was 78 years old. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. Asevado George, for 58 years. Loving father of Michael J. George, John C. "Jay" George (Tiffany), Monica R. George Hadley (Barry) and the late Timothy T. George. Grandfather of Joshua (McKenzie) and Jeremy (Sons of Timothy), Ashlyn (Daughter of John), and Justin (Son of Monica.) Great-grandfather of Jack (Son of Ashlyn), Marley (Daughter of Joshua) and Lucas (Son of Joshua.) Brother of Robert Leon George and the late John Thomas George. He was predeceased by his parents, John Herman George and Ida Mae Delaune George. He also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews and dear friends. William, better known as "Tim" to family and friends, was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 7, 1940. Due to his business ventures, he was a very familiar face in St. Bernard. In 1962 he opened Tim's Auto Repair, on St. Bernard Highway. In 1976, he embarked on a joint venture to open Tim's Marine, Inc., before branching off on his own to open Custom Boat Mfg, Inc., in 1990. He took great pride in his work, and through the years, built up a solid and loyal customer base. He was also a member of many clubs and organizations in St. Bernard Parish. A visitation will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 BAYOU ROAD, in St. Bernard, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral mass in Tim's honor will be held at Noon. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
