William Daniel Zollinger

William Daniel Zollinger, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Bill was born in New Orleans on August 14, 1940, graduated from LSU in 1962, and was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith Coday Zollinger, and his adoring children William Zollinger, Jr., (Michelle), Ashley Prokasy (Sean), Jeremy Zollinger (Karen) and Kendall Duplantis (Mike). He was the devoted grandfather of Daniel, Benjamin, and Walter Zollinger; Grant and Collin Prokasy; Sophia and Antonio Zollinger; and Morgan and Madalynn Duplantis. He is preceded in death by his parents John Jacob Zollinger II and Esther Hall Zollinger, and his brothers John Zollinger III and Phillip Zollinger, and his brother-in-law James Coday. He is survived by his sister Esther Z. Hall, brothers Robert Zollinger and Karl Zollinger, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Bill proudly served in the US Army and was a Managing Director at Raymond James. He was an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the church finance committee for several years, Administrative Council, and Staff Parish Relations. He proudly served on the Board of Directors of the Army War College for a number of years and on other boards throughout the city. Bill was also an avid LSU fan, and enjoyed hunting as well as traveling with family and friends. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
