Willie James Jr. Obituary

Willie Earl (Whop) James Jr., 58, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2014. Born on August 6, 1956, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Eliza Mae Tate and Willie Earl James Sr. Whop had been raised in New Orleans but spent the latter of his years in Gretna, Louisiana. He was an ever present Father and friend to his children. Abundant are the memories of Willie Earl (Whop) James Jr. that will forever be cherished by his lovely wife, Theresa Denise James, his six beloved children; Michelle Lee, Nathaniel D. James Sr., Jonathan Z. James Sr. (Ashley), Jacob S. James Sr. , Jessica A. James, and Jared L. James. His dearly sisters and brothers; Julia Ellis (Roland), Jackie Wittenberg Womble (Ralph), and Quintina Wittenberg Smith (Calvin), Wilton Tate III, Ronnie James, Arthur Wittenberg, Kenneth Commadore, and Timothy James. His wonderful grandchildren; Nathaniel Jr., Jonathan Jr., Jacob Jr, Davionne and Ariel. Last but not least, Sister(s) and brother(s) in Law, Kimberly Williams (Lionel), Annie James (Ronnie), and Lalisa Jefferson (Alan), Willie James (Letonya), and Kenneth James. Mother and Father in law of thirty-three years Betty H. and Willie R. James. Special Uncles and Aunts; Melvin James, Bobby Nate, Jeanne Lenoir, Sunny Reeves, Eva Reeves, Clara Reeves. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved and was loved by. The Celebration service of Willie's life will be conducted on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Believer's Life Family Church located at 501 Lapalco Blvd., Gretna, Louisiana, 70056. Viewing will be held at 10:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Professional arrangements entrusted to Majestic Mortuary Service, (504) 523-5872.
