Ellen,
Thoughts & prayers are with you dear friend. You are loved and Bud will be remembered always. I'll remember him as a strapping gent in a tux with a cocktail. Needless to say, many memories of laughter and love.
Love you...

Dear Ellen,
It was with great sadness that I learned of Bud's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of the two of you. I remember lot's of wonderful times in your apartment in new York, in your place in Santa Monica and of course your wonderful house in New Orleans. The joy that the two of you shared was seen by all. I send much love and hugs to you dear friend.
Take care,
Maxine

Bud was so young at heart. He wasn't like anyone else I've known from his generation. Always sweet and fun and never uptight. I liked his big, deep voice with the distant Minnesota accent. He was generous with his investment knowledge. I always loved it when I would get a package from him in the mail packed with investment analysis and recommendations. Of course, he would throw some right-wing nonsense in there too from time to time. He said he wanted the country to be run like a business and not a charity. There are a lot of times when I don't disagree so maybe some of his nonsense rubbed off! I remember being on a cruise with Bud, Ellen and my parents and asking everyone how that massive boat we were in stayed afloat. No one could explain except, of course, for Bud. He explained the physics principles that kept the boat from sinking. I can't remember why the boat didn't sink, however. He was something and I'm glad I got to know him. Love you Bud, see you on the other side maybe.

ellie, it is hard to believe we will be in new orleans and bud won't be there with us physically. i know he will always be there in spirit. it will be very strange not to see him in his chair in the living room with the dog or cat on his lap. bud tried very hard to get me and bobby not to eat sugar (to no avail) and to convert me to the republican side (that didn't work either) but it was always fun to hear him try and we had many laughs that i will miss with all my heart. i know how lonely you are and bobby and i love you more than you will ever know. t.

My uncle, Bud, introduced me to jazz, taught me how to make a martini, embodied independent thinking, and single handedly tried to bring back the gold dollar. I smile and tear up when I think about how much he meant to me and my family and will miss him dearly.
