Yolanda Dillion

1968 - 2022

Yolanda Ann Dillion was born to the union of Luther and Edna Parker Dillion on July 9, 1968, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Yolanda attended St. Paul the Apostle Elementary School and Marion Abramson High School. She went on to attend Xavier University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and continued her education by obtaining a Master of Arts from Tulane University. She was currently writing her dissertation in pursuit of her Doctor of Philosophy degree. Yolanda was a dedicated daughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and loved her city. As a result, Yolanda dedicated the last 10 years of her life as a Budget Analyst for the New Orleans Police Department. In addition, she worked part-time as a driver for Uber. On Thursday, December 8, 2022, Yolanda departed this earthly life. She leaves behind a legacy of warm memories for all who knew her. She had a passion for education. She enjoyed reading, researching, and spending time with family and friends. She also took pleasure in serving as a Lecturer and a member of Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Yolanda was preceded in death by her father Luther Dillion. She is survived by her mother Edna Dillion. Yolanda affectionately known as "Dee" will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be most remembered for her love of family. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 10:00am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church 6828 Chef Menteur Highway New Orleans, Louisiana 70126. Reverend Charles Ndumbi, SVD~Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery 4000 Norman Mayer Ave. NOLA 70122.
