Yvonne Wilson

Yvonne Wilson was born on July 10, 1980 and was called home on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Yvonne was a New Orleans native and lived in Kenner until her passing. Yvonne was a Proud Veteran of the United States Army where she served as a Combat Medic Specialist. Yvonne was a decorated sheriff for the NOPD and did security for some time. She then decided to pursue her love for music as a professional DJ, calling herself DJ1tyme. She found her DJ home with the prominent Definition DJs of New Orleans and her well-deserved residency at the Bourbon Pub. Revamping herself as DJ Vaughndutch (because she thought it was way more catchy) she rocked the house at the Pub until she passed. Yvonne touched so many lives and took so much pride in being an amazing wife, mom, sister, daughter, auntie and friend. As a DJ she helped create special experiences for her clients. Everyone spoke of her amazing range as a DJ and her professionalism. She had a smile that was infectious and a humble, gentle spirit. Her love for her family and friends was unmatched. Yvonne is preceded in death by her father Julius Wilson and her sister Connie Henry. Yvonne is survived by her wife Victoria Cade-Wilson, her daughter Tiana Marie Wilson, her mother Bertha Wilson, her sister Barbara Simmons and her brother Richard Wilson as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and beloved extended family and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday July 31, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
