Zalie Francis Newell

Zalie Francis Newell, at age 83, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Passages Hospice Sanctuary. Born January 6, 1933 to the late Stephen, Sr. and Geneva Williams. Wife of the late Albert "AC" Newell and mother of the late Trenier Newell. Beloved sister to the late Stephen, Jr., Ronald Williams, and Gloria Griffin. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Joycelyn Johnson-Evans (the late Ollie), Sandra Johnson (Sabor), and Cynthia Johnson-Williams (Edward, Sr.); four grandchildren: Nicole Williams, Bridget Evans, Stephen Evans, and Edward Williams, Jr.; three great-grandchildren Cion Evans, Joshua Dukes, and Ethan Williams; and a host of extended family and lifelong friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St Phillip St., New Orleans, LA 70116, on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans LA.
