Caiden Chris Loose-Ives, age 15, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with congenital heart disease (CHD). Born on May 28, 2010, Caiden touched countless lives with his enormous heart, infectious smile, and unwavering strength. A kind, caring, funny, determined, and compassionate young man, Caiden leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will never be forgotten.
A true outdoorsman, Caiden loved mushroom hunting and fishing, earning his Iowa Master Angler Award in 2021. He collected knives, bottlecaps, and golf balls, always embracing his passions and never letting his disabilities define him. An avid golfer, he was thrilled to witness the 2025 Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. He earned 17 medals as a proud participant in the Iowa Special Olympics and was honored to attend the 2019 Heroes Game as a devoted Husker fan.
Caiden was an active member of Saint John Lutheran Church, where he stood strong in his faith. A "True Blue Titan," he was a dedicated member of the Lewis Central High School Bowling and Chess teams, excelling in academics and on track to graduate with the Class of 2028.
He loved playing online games with his brothers, friends, cousin A.C., and nephew Liam. His spirit, warmth, and laughter brought light to everyone around him.
