Donald Smith Obituary

Donald Richard Smith "Richard", age 93, passed away February 26, 2008.

Richard was born in Rose, Nebraska on December 8, 1914, to Percy and Eulalia Capel Smith and graduated from Treynor High School in 1933. Richard farmed in the Treynor area for over 50 years retiring in 1979, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Timm ) in 1985; his parents; son, Steven Smith; sister, Marjorie Gourley; brother, Robert Smith.

Survivors include son, Donald R. Smith of Margate, Florida; daughter, Karen Sperry; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Smith all of Treynor, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Ellsworth of Phoenix.

Visitation will be Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Church. Father Dan Kirby officiant. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery with luncheon to follow at Queen of the Apostles. Memorials to American Heart Association preferred.
