Douglas Ryan Obituary
January 22, 1971 - July 28, 2024
Douglas Paul Ryan, age 53, of Underwood, IA, passed away unexpectantly at his residence on July 28, 2024.
Doug was born January 22, 1971, in Ames, IA, to the late Dennis P. Ryan and Judy Tiarks Ryan. Doug was a graduate of Underwood High School with the class of 1989. He was united in marriage to Amy Bardsley on November 11, 1995, and were blessed with three sons, Colby, Connor and Chase.
Doug worked in the Agriculture business for many years at Farm Service Coop, Larson Farms and presently at FSC in Shelby, IA. Doug is a lifetime member of the Underwood Fire Department, and a member of St. Columbanus Church in Weston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Ryan; grandparents, Emmett and Mary Ryan; aunts, uncles, cousins; and his favorite dog, Buster.
Doug is survived by his wife, Amy Bardsley-Ryan, of Underwood; sons, Colby of Council Bluffs, Connor of Eagan, MN, and Chase of Underwood; mother, Judy Ryan; brothers, Dave and wife Lynette, all of Underwood, Dan and wife Denise of McClelland, IA; mother-in-law and father-in-law ,Ginny and Denny Bardsley, of Underwood; brothers-in-law, Andy Bardsley and wife Laura, of Denver, CO, Jason Bardsley and wife Rebecca of Glenwood, IA, Joey Bardsley and wife Adrienne of Underwood; many nieces, nephews , cousins, and numerous friends.
VISITATION: Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m., at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Neola, IA. Luncheon will follow the funeral mass at the church social hall.
INTERMENT: St. Columbanus Cemetery, Weston IA, following the funeral luncheon.
Memorials are suggested to Underwood Fire Department or St. Columbanus Church.
