George Head, Jr.

August 10, 1928 - January 31, 2025

George G. Head Jr., age 96, passed away on January 31, 2025, at Prairie Gate.

He was born on August 10, 1928, to the late George and Lillie Ann Head. George graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1947 and then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. During his career there, he held leadership positions with IBEW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn.

George is survived by his sons, Gilbert (Nina) Head, Raymond (Karen) Head, and Jerry Head; sister, Julia Crowder; grandchildren, Melissa (Josh), Erik (Jamie), Justin (Marjory), Cassandra, Spencer, and Talia; five great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 04, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Interment with military honors will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
