John R. "Buzz" Lewis, age 90, of Neola, IA, passed away November 4, 2024, at Northcrest Care Center in Council Bluffs. Buzz was born November 20, 1933, in Harrison County, IA to the late John E. and Eva M. (Gundy) Lewis. He graduated from Beebeetown, IA High School in 1952. Buzz proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Helen Barrier on April 15, 1956, and to this union three children were born, Craig, Kimberly, and Doug. Buzz worked for Omaha Standard for 46 years retiring in 1998 and helped his dad on the farm. He was a member of Neola Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, Buzz was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lewis; brothers, Kenneth, and Larry Lewis; sisters, Viola Mahoney, Norma Buffum, Marjorie Scott, and Jane Christiansen. Buzz is survived by his children, Craig Lewis (Mary), Kim Larsen (Mike), Doug Lewis (Peggy); nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; brother, Dennis Lewis; many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION with the family, Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. INURNMENT will follow in the Neola Township Cemetery with military rites tendered by the Neola American Legion Post #330. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Neola, IA Senior Center.

I worked with Mr. Lewis's son Craig at Peterbilt of Council Bluffs for many years. As is Craig is such a stand up and gracious person I can only believe his father was to. Many good thoughts to a well respected man. John Davis.
