Neal C. Evans, age 74, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 1, 2024, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Neal was born June 6, 1950, in Holdrege, NE, to the late Wilbur G. and Isabelle L. (Martens) Evans. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968, and attended UNO for two years where he was majoring in engineering. While at UNO, Neal was part of concert and marching band, playing baritone and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Neal married Geri Vogt on April 3, 1982. They were blessed with four children, Scott, Melissa, Nathan, and Kent. Neal was a carpenter, and head of buildings and grounds for Council Bluffs Community Schools. He was also contract administrator for BCDM Architects; did other project management projects and before retiring worked for Omaha Neon Sign Company. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Evans. Neal is survived by his wife of 42 years, Geri Evans; son, Scott (Traci) Evans and their daughter, Ellie; daughter, Melissa (Nathan) Kellum and their children, Henley, Colton, and Liam; sons, Nathan Evans, Kent (Ying hwa) Evans and their child Greyson and expectant baby in February; sister, Roxanne; and various other family members.

Visitation with the family, Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Saturday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Church of the Nazarene, Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
