Shawn B. Taylor, age 54, passed away at Methodist Hospital, on September 20, 2023, after an 11-year battle with cancer.
He was born October 25, 1968, to Michael and Katherine (Massouris) Taylor, in Council Bluffs, IA. Shawn graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the Class of 1987 and then Peru State in 1992. He retired from Kellogg's.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Taylor.
Shawn is survived by his sons, Nick (Becky) Taylor and Jake Taylor; mother, Katherine Taylor; grandchildren, Henry Taylor, Jane Taylor, and George Taylor; brothers, Phil (Carleen) Taylor and Brent Taylor; a host of other family and friends.
Private services will be held. Memorials are suggested to Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, 8303 Dodge St., Omaha, NE 68114.

I only had the privilege of knowing Shawn for a little over 4 years- and wow what a man with an incredible heart of gold. Witty, smart, kind, and full of life - and fought like a warrior - defying all odds over and over again. We will miss him so very much, and can do all we can to live our lives to the fullest as shawn did every single day while here for this very short time. As my dad always says- "we're all just passing through."
