Pete Edwardsen

1953 - 2023

Dundas - Pete Edwardsen, age 69, passed away at home with Judy and family by his side on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Peter Frances Edwardsen was born December 30, 1953, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Orville P. "Pete" and Delores (Matson) Edwardsen. He was raised in Northfield and graduated Northfield High School in 1973. Following his education he worked as a mechanic until 1976, when he began working at Malt-O-Meal. In November 1992, Pete began his longtime relationship with Judy Nelson. Pete retired in 2013 and continued to stay busy including working with Judy's son Steve at Nelson Lawn Care.

Pete was a member of the Sundowner's Car Club and was proud of his '68 Camero and '73 Corvette. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends at the cabin on Lake Jefferson near Cleveland, Minnesota. He was caring, helpful, generous with his time and had a competitive nature. Pete was a wonderful Grandpa and taught his grandchildren many things and was there to help them at the drop of hat. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his longtime companion Judy Nelson; his sons Peter of Faribault and Ryan of Tennessee; Judy's children Steve (Juellia) Nelson of Northfield, Nancy (Jackie) Nelson-LaMott of Eagan; 3 grandchildren Marissa, Rylee and Thomas; his siblings Linda (Richard) Kleeberger of Northfield, Susan (Gary) Chester of Northfield, Lorie (Steve) Estrem of Nerstrand, LeAnn (Jim) Schneider of Sagle, Idaho, Joanne (Arvid) Larson of Dennison, Vicki (Jeff) Peter of Cannon Falls, Jennie Redfield of Northfield, Julie (Steve) Rockers of Northfield, June Edwardsen of Northfield, Tami Edwardsen (Jeff Montayne) of Northfield, Becky (John) Sheridan of Cedar Rapids, IA, Larry (JoAnn) Edwardsen of Northfield, Todd Edwardsen of Northfield; his sister-in-law Judy Edwardsen of Farmington; his brother-in-law LeRoy Gatton (Julie Mitchell) of Dundas; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis and his sister Nancy Gatton.

A gathering to celebrate Pete's life will be held from 1:00PM - 4:00PM, Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield.
