Albert Shotmeyer Obituary

SHOTMEYER Albert M., age 100, died peacefully at home in Saddle River on August 8, 2007. Mr. Shotmeyer was born near Amsterdam in the Netherlands on January 21, 1907. He came to the United States in 1923 settling with his family in Hawthorne. He and his brother Henry founded Shotmeyer Brothers Oil Company. Later he became President and CEO of Shotmeyer Oil Corporation. He was a member of the Netherlands Club of New York, the North Jersey Country Club, and the Ridgewood Country Club. Surviving is his loving wife of 39 years Ann (nee Burney), her daughter Carol Sims of Austin, TX, his devoted daughters Elizabeth Jo Shotmeyer of Key Largo, FL, and Kathleen O'Brien of Saddle River. Mr. Shotmeyer also leaves his grandsons, Matthew and Mark Ippoliti, Ryan, Jonathan and Benjamin Sims. Mr. Shotmeyer was predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen (Bowen) in 1963, his brothers Henry Sr, and John, and his sister Jeanette. Funeral mass will be held Friday 10 AM at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park. Interment will follow in the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Visiting is Thursday, August 9, 2007, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. www.vpfh.com
