Alfonso Fletcher

FLETCHER
Alfonso "Amaco" Jr., was born October 30, 1932 in Avalon, VA to Alfonso Fletcher and Ruth Jenkins Fletcher. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After receiving his education in Virginia, he joined the United States Army and the United States Air Force. After being discharged from the Armed Forces, he moved to Baltimore, MD and later to New York. He was also a member of the American Legion. Alfonso was employed by New Jersey Transit for 35 years. Later he was employed by European Auto Car dealership as a Driver. After moving to Paterson, NJ he met and married Gail Yough on March 10, 1994. On Friday, November 30, 2012 at St Joseph's Healthcare Center in Paterson, NJ, God called him home. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Fletcher; parents, Alfonso, Sr. and Ruth Fletcher; brother, Ellis B. Fletcher; sisters, Catherine E. Robbins and Doris V. Jones. Alfonso leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Gail P. Fletcher; daughter, Cheryl; two sons, Alvin and James Fletcher; three sisters, Mary Henderson, Bernice Short and Carrie Nickens; one brother, Lewis Fletcher, Sr., brothers-in-law, Sterling Nickens, Marvin Henderson, David, Crapxoo, Ricardo, and Stanford Yough, Arthur Simmons, Willie Cheatham, and Allen Boyd; sisters-in-law, Laura Cheatham, Loretta Yough, Lorraine Simmons, Betty Boyd, Mary Jane Lewis, and Thomasa Yough; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Joe Beasley and Aaron Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, December 7, 2012, 7 PM at The Madison Avenue Christian Reformed Church 494 Madison Ave., Paterson, NJ. Interment: William C.
