Reverend Andrew John Topp

Reverend Andrew John Topp, 58, of North Haledon, NJ, a selfless humanitarian and avid pilot, went home to the Lord doing what he loved most, flying, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

He received a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in 1981 followed by a Master's in Theology from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1983. Andrew has served as the Pastor of the First Reformed Church of Boonton since 1998, prior to that he pastored several churches in the Passaic/Bergen area. Andy served as the Chairperson of the Rotary District 7490 Gift of Life Foundation and coordinated the lifesaving heart surgeries for hundreds of children from across the world. He was the President and Founder of the International Humanitarian Aid Foundation, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to provide assistance directly to disadvantaged people across the world and threatened by natural disaster. In support of his son's activities, Andy volunteered as Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 20 from 1993-2000 in Haledon. He was a member of the Ridgewood A.M. Rotary Club since the late 1970's. His volunteer and charitable work worldwide touched lives everywhere he went.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Milande (Leonard) Topp and daughter Elena: devoted children, Erica (John) Fischer - Kaslander, Joshua, Zachary, Guy, Linnea, and their mother, Karen Fischer; loving mother, Ruth (VanGoor) Topp; dear brother, Kevin (Debra) Topp and sister, Beth (Dan) Farrow; Loving Grandfather of Benjamin Edwin and Jacob Alvin Kaslander. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew and brother Robert.

The Celebration of Andy's Life will be held at his church, The First Reformed Church of Boonton, 236 Washington St., Boonton, NJ 07005 on Sunday, May 6, 2018 with a Memorial Visitation from 1-4 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm. I am very sorry for your loss. For years Andy and I worked at the Gift of Life program for our Rotary District 7490, and was an asset.
He will be sorely missed.
