STAUHS
Anna (nee Witkovsky), 91, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2014.
Mrs. Stauhs was born January 25, 1923 in Einsiedel Czechoslovakia, now Mnisek Czech Republic. As a Carpathian German from the Zips, she immigrated to Newark, NJ from Germany in 1951. She moved to Maplewood in 1957, raising her family there with her husband Charles, who predeceased her. In 1998 she moved to Clifton and resided there since. She was a homemaker and school teacher and was member of Karpatendendeutschen, otherwise known as Zipsters and was a parishioner of St. Clare RC Church in Clifton.
Mrs. Stauhs is survived by her daughter Laurie Stauhs Howard and granddaughters Margaux and Monique of Ridgewood NJ; her son Charles and his wife, Carol, of Clifton; granddaughters Katie and Paula Hoehne and husband, Keith and grandson Charles Paul Stauhs and his wife, Donna Ploch; son Michael and his wife, Donna, of Springfield, NJ; grandson Michael and granddaughters Jamie and Nicki; her sister, Mitzi Goellner of Meningerhausen, Germany and brother, Kolomon Witkovsky, of Korbach, Germany; and many nieces and nephews in Germany. She also leaves her extended caregiver family: Lupe, Mariana, Alma and Arely.
Funeral services will be Thursday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10 AM at St. Clare RC Church, 31 Allwood Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
