Bernadette Murphy Obituary
Bernadette "Bette" (nee Scollen), of River Edge, Spring Lake Heights and Jupiter FL, on December 7, 2015. Loving wife of the late Michael Joseph "Joe". Beloved mother of Keith, Maryanne Kazlow and her husband Glenn and Michael and his wife Marissa. Devoted grandmother of Kristin, Keith Jr., Lindsay, Kevin, Jillian, Andrew, Trevor, Paige and Sean. Dearest sister of Ann Heatherington. She is also survived by numerous relatives in Ireland. Bette was born in Dublin Ireland and came with her husband to the United States. They settled in River Edge and became active members of St. Peter's R.C. Church where Bette played the guitar and sang in the choir. She was a member of the River Edge Woman's Club. Bette worked for Pan American World Airlines for many years in the New Jersey Sales Office. She worked for Stratton Travel Agency of Franklin Lakes when she retired. Visitation Friday 4:00-7:00 PM at the Barrett Funeral Home 148 Dean Drive Tenafly. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:30 AM St. Peter's Church River Edge. Interment George Washington Memorial Park Paramus. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's R.C. Church, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, NJ 07661. For directions visit www.barrettfuneralhome.net.

What made me suddenly look up your Mom's name on my laptop today? I wanted to send her a Christmas card. What a shock to see the obituary.I knew Bette for such a short amount of time,but the time that we spent together was filled with stories,laughter,and some serious talks. So sorry to hear about your Mom - know she was very lucky to have you take such good care of her! I also lost my Mom in August and it's hard but like you - made sure to spend plenty of time with her, especially the time she was sick and have so many great memories.
