Bernard C. Gallant "Bernie", age 90, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born in Paterson, Bernie lived his entire life in Wyckoff where he attended the Public Schools and was a graduate of Ramsey High School. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1950. Bernie continued to follow in his Grandfather and mother's footsteps in the operation of the family business known as Charles E. Roberts Ribbon Company in Paterson, NJ. He was an active member of Cornerstone Christian Church and a member of the Wyckoff Rotary Club. Bernie served as a Board member of the Bethany Christian Services and West Bergen Mental Health. His greatest passions were that of his family, his faith, and his giving nature. Surviving are his devoted children, Kathy and her husband Allen Stiles and Jeff Gallant. Bernie also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Jessica and Justen Stiles and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by loving wife Helen (nee Dalby) in 2012. The Gallant family will receive friends on Wednesday, 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church, 495 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church or Valley Hospice, 223 Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
