Cruz Velasquez Obituary
85 died peacefully on 9/24/2011, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered with great love and affection by her five children, Michael, Elisa "Alice", Ruth Erlandsen, David (Gloria) & Robert Velasquez; grandchildren Thomas (Michelle) & Michael (Kirstin) Wells, Christopher (Christina) & Bryan Erlandsen, Robert, Joshua (Lauren Hayes) & Victoria Velasquez; great grandkids Geoffrey & Lauren Wells, Brady & Caroline Erlandsen and Jaime, Vanessa & Trinity Velasquez. She also leaves behind a sister Carmen Serrano, brother Lupe Sanchez and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial mass will be at 10 am on Monday, 10/3/2011 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 4715 N. Central Ave. Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Arrangements by Hansen Mortuary.

Ruth, My deepest sympathy for you and your family. Just a word of comfort, no you are never alone. There's truly nothing we need know if we have faith wherever we go. Alice, Ruth, David, Mike and Bobby, I extend my sympathy to you for the loss of your dear mother. I remember Mrs. Velasquez so well when I was growing up and playing over at her house with Ruth Ann, Bobby and David. About 50 years have gone by since then, but I still remember her as a kind and generous woman with a warm heart who always cared about others. She is unforgettable and she will truly be missed.
