Uncle Dan, I am so sorry for us here on earth having to go on without you nearby. You were such a great and loving Uncle, an inspiration in so many ways. You loved my beautiful Aunt Renee and were such a wonderful father and friend to your children. Everything you were involved in was made more beautiful. I know you will be like that picture you took of the racoon in the tree, watching over us, seemingly hidden, but we know that you will be there with us always. Love Forever, Your niece, Janice

Dear Renee and Family,
Words cannot express my heart-felt sympathy for you at this time. Dan was a remarkable human being. Every time I visited he was so welcoming. I remember the last time. He took me upstairs to show me his incredible photos. He had quite a talent. I still smile when I think of the sheer joy on his face when he saw a hummingbird in my backyard. He gave me a new appreciation of birds! I am so sad he is gone, but I know he will live on in all of you. I will see his kindness, generosity and gregariousness in you. He fought a valiant battle with his family continuously supporting him. And even in death, he has helped future transplant recipients. My sympathies are with you. I love you all, Joan

My deepest sympathies to the entire Blackowski family. I spoke with Dan almost every month for the last several years. We both ran businesses. We both trusted each others advice. We were both diabetics. We both loved photography. I will miss his calls. I will miss laughing with him. Memories of him will remain alive with me always. May all the beautiful moments comfort you. My sincerest condolences...

Dan was a sincere, caring friend. His patience and love of life will be missed. He leaves a legacy of delightful photographic art that clearly shows his perception on seeing nature in ways most never do. This was a God-given gift and I will always treasure the one he gifted me. May the blessings from God above support all of the family in this most trying time. Dan is reaping his reward forevermore.
