Daniel Boland Obituary

BOLAND
Daniel Thomas, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home in River Edge, NJ.
He was born on August 11th, 1960 to Edgar J. Boland and Mary P. Boland (Young).
Dan was preceded in death by his father Edgar J. Boland and is survived by his wife Eileen Boland (Costello) of River Edge, NJ, his sons Matthew of Long Beach, NY, Thomas of Washington, DC, and Sean of River Edge, NJ, his mother, Mary of Rutherford, NJ, his sisters, Cathy Longo of Glenside, PA, Linda Abraham of San Francisco, CA and Maureen Boland of Wyncote, PA, as well as his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Their tremendous loss is heaven's gain.
Dan grew up in Rutherford, NJ, and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1978. He received a BS in Accounting from Villanova University in 1982 and an MBA from Fordham University in 1989. He was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in Paramus, NJ in the wealth management division as a financial advisor.
Dan married fellow Villanova graduate, Eileen. They were happily married for 30 years and had 3 sons; Matthew, Thomas and Sean, who were Dan's pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Dan developed an early and lifelong passion for sports. He and Eileen raised their family in River Edge, NJ where Dan was very involved in the community, coaching multiple teams over many years. He was one of the founding members of Fr. Solanus Casey – Bergen 32 - Ancient Order of Hibernians, where he participated in a range of events for a variety of charitable causes. He loved family, friends, Villanova basketball, Giants football, and St Patrick's Day parades.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday, October 24th, 11 AM, St. Peter the Apostle Church, River Edge. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family will be receiving family and friends on Sunday, October 23rd beginning at 3 PM and concluding at 8 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderka-mack Rd., River Edge.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Please make checks payable to "MSK" and send to the Office of Development, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Attn: Lauren Kelly, 885 Second Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10017. Please indicate on the check that the gift is in memory of Daniel Boland.
