Daniel Oliver Obituary

OLIVER Daniel J., age 71 of Hawthorne, on Saturday December 20, 2008. Loving father of Suzanne Marsico, her husband Steven, and Richard W. Oliver; dear grandfather of Brittaney and Steven Marsico, all of Hawthorne. He is also survived by his former wife Ellen Oliver of Brokenbone, Nebraska. Daniel was born in Hackensack and lived his past 41 years in Hawthorne. Mr. Oliver had worked as a photographer for the Bergen Record, before working the past 23 years as a Water Operator for Hawthorne Boro. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving as an MP. Daniel also bravely served the Boro of Hawthorne as a firefighter with Hawthorne Fire Company #3. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Oliver family and share their fondest memories of Daniel on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave. Hawthorne, where a memorial service will begin at 8:30 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Your in my prayers Dan, we spent a good part of our lives together, and have two wonderful children to show for it..We are sorely going to miss you. Now your in a much better place, with no more pain and suffering.

I worked with Dan at the Record Newspaper in the mid 1960's. He was a wonderfull man with a great smile and always in a cheerfull mood.
He was a skilled photographer.
