Dan, Jr. talked about his dad many times over the years. He was so proud of him. It is sad to see him gone. I had not heard from Dan, the son, in a long time. It breaks my heart to see in this obituary that he is gone, also. I suspected something might be wrong. I have tried so hard many times over to find a phone number for him on the Internet, etc.. We lived so far apart, and never saw each other for so many years, but we talked and reminisced, periodically, about our days together at Samford University, and it was wonderful when we did. Words cannot say how much I have missed talking with Dan. I pray for his family in the loss of a great husband, father, and now Dan's dad.
