Dorothy Lapham

LAPHAM Dorothy H., age 95, a lifelong resident of Hackensack on July 6, 2011. Dorothy was a graduate of Hackensack High School (1933) and Mount Holyoke College (1937). She was an insurance underwriter with Aetna Insurance Company, Hartford, CT and the Conklin Insurance Agency in Hackensack, NJ. Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hackensack for 81 years where she was a member and Moderator of the Woman's Guild, led Bible studies, was a Sunday School teacher, and was a soloist and member of the Chancel Choir. She was an elder and one of the first woman trustees of the church. Dorothy was a devoted daughter to her father Thomas (1936), mother Elsa (1989), and loving sister to 1st Lietenant Hoagland "Bud" (1944). She is survived by many loving cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Hackensack on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10 AM with interment at the Hackensack Cemetery.
