Dot was a second mother to me as well as others. She always made me feel as if I was one if her own kids. I left Cresskill to join the Navy right after high school in 1976 but we kept in touch. She sent me a birthday card every year until she could no longer do so. Each card was a letter catching me up with that year's events, pictures included. We last saw Dot in 2010 and she got to meet my wife and stepdaughter. I'm glad for that. She was a great lady with love for all and I'll truly miss her. May she rest in eternal peace!

My mom was a light in life, who with her wisdom and faith, continuously worked to help us be the best versions of ourselves that we could be. Even in our most rebellious of times, when we were self centered, selfish, or reckless in our actions, or angry and hurtful with our thoughts and words, she still just wanted nothing more than the best for us. She tried endlessly with words of wisdom, letters of tough love, and smiles of pride to help us to do our best and be our best selves. She prayed endlessly, I'm certain for each of us, went to church daily for a very long time in her life, and gave herself and her love to Jesus, in hopes of being a model for each of us to learn from. I think of my mom and I think of grace, dignity, beauty, generosity, wisdom and love. I remember her infectious smiles and laugh, hard working tirelessness, and her dutiful, purposeful ways.
I know in my heart that my mother has already been received into her heavenly home and been told, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!" I know that she will be watching over all of us still, guiding us. Interceding for us and still wanting nothing but the best for each of us.
I love you mom!

My precious Dorothy left this world late Friday night. She came into my life and changed it forever. She was my mother, mentor, best friend. Our lives became one. She knew the promise I made to her would be kept and that was to remain faithful by her side to the end. I did and will take her home to complete her rest. Dorothy Mary Healey, which I always called her, (Roser was her married name) was a woman of intense love, generous heart and Irish spirit. We prayed, laughed, cried and celebrated everything together. Ours was a rare friendship in this life of broken promises. We both experienced them and made a pact to show others you can love unconditionally. It has always been easy for both of us but together we were a formidable pair. We loved everyone unconditionally even when the throes of her Alzheimer tried to blight our mission. Our daughters brought us together and God melted our hearts as a unit. I miss her physical presence already. She was the Thelma to my Louise. The salt to my pepper and the joy to my sadness. Our favorite prayer and song together-I sang it to her anytime she became anxious and it calmed her immediately was the Prayer of Saint Francis. It was our mantra and it will continue to be mine as I continue to live my life as our incomparable duo. I love you, Dorothy Mary Healey
