Douglas Haledjian Obituary

HALEDJIAN Douglas D., 55, of Montvale, NJ passed away on February 13, 2011. Born and raised in New York City, he relocated to River Edge, NJ, at the age of nine, prior to settling in Montvale thirty years ago. He was a member of the St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn, where he served as a former council member. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from Monmouth University where he was inducted into the university's tennis Hall of Fame, where he played his entire college career. An avid tennis player, he was an instructor and club pro for the Fair Lawn Racquet Club. Doug enjoyed following local sports, especially softball and soccer in which he was a coach for years. Doug also enjoyed spending quality time with his loving family and friends; he will be missed by all. He was employed as insurance adjuster for the Prudential Insurance Company located in Newark for 15 years. Prior to that, he was an insurance adjuster for the Chubb Insurance Company for 15 years. Loving and devoted husband of Lisa (Djergaian) Haledjian, Cherished father of Gregory and Julie Haledjian. Dear son-in-law of Michael and Queenie Mullian, caring brother-in-law of Dr. Robert Djergaian. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 10 AM at the St. Leon Armenian Church, 12-61 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn, NJ 07410. Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Colonial Home Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 201-797-3500.
