Edward Bojekian Obituary

BOJEKIAN - Edward, age 83, of Franklin Lakes, a former Fort Lee resident for over 50 years, on February 17, 2007. Beloved husband to the late Florence nee: Abajy. Devoted father to Constance and her husband Richard Sarkissian and Stephen, (retired Chief of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department), and his wife Maria Bojekian. Beloved grandfather to Ninamarie and Michael Bojekian, and Colby Sarkissian. Dear brother to the late Alice Meyer. Adored uncle of Dennis Meyer and Anita Fugate. Mr. Bojekian enlisted in the US Coast Guard during World War II. Then he worked for the Department of Navy serving as Chief Electrician and First Assistant Engineer. Next he went on to serve in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was discharged a Petty Officer. He established his own business, Bojek Electric in Fort Lee, and was one of the first "Licensed" Electricians in the state. A member of the VFW Post #5702 in Franklin Lakes and an active member of the Northern Valley Chapter 32 of disabled Veterans. Mr. Bojekian was a generous benefactor to Outdoors and Nature Projects. An active member of the Fort Lee Historic Society and St. Leon's Armenian Church. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". All are asked to assemble Wednesday 11 AM at St. Leon's Armenian Apostolic Church.
