Elizabeth Heller Obituary

HELLER
Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Chambers), 91, a life-long resident of Rutherford passed away January 5th, 2013. Born in Rutherford to Oliver and Rebecca (nee Ball) Chambers in 1921. She received her Elementary Education degree in 1943 from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and taught in the Lyndhurst school system before switching to Rutherford's Lincoln School to teach 2nd grade for many years before starting her family. She retired from full-time teaching in 1961 but loved to tutor children and taught special education part-time up through 1980. She also taught Sunday School, Summer Vacation Bible School and Round-up Time at The Rutherford Bible Chapel.
Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband Raymond, her three sons; David, Richard, his wife Judith and Bill, his wife Kirsten and five grandchildren: Rebecca, Emily, Abigayl, Logan and Ryan. She is predeceased by her late brother, Oliver "Bud" Chambers, Jr.
Funeral, Saturday 10 AM Prayer Service in the Funeral Home, Rev. Gerard De Matteo, officiating. Those attending please arrive 9:30 AM. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Avenue, Lyndhurst NJ. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford NJ.
