Gennaro Corrado

CORRADO
Gennaro, age 83, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born in Sala Consilina, Italy, Gennaro left his home and his family to begin his journey to the United States at the age of seventeen. He spent 10 years in Venzuela before he arrived in Paterson in 1959. He was well recognized while working at The Falls View Grill in Paterson for over 20 years. He continued in the food business at the Wallington Grill and was later employed by the Paterson Board of Education. During his retirement, Gennaro created memorable moments with his grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and spent many hours in his garden. Additional fun past times include being with family and playing cards (Scala Quaranta). Gennaro was married for 47 years to the late Beatrice (Natale) Corrado who passed away on July 18, 2011. He is survived by his three children: Rosemary and her husband Donato, Michael and his wife Noemi and Nick and his wife Sharon, six grandchildren Jackie, Nicolette, Domenico, Matthew, Stefano and Gennaro. He is predeceased by Angelo Ciampa. Gennaro is the son of the late Maria De Rosa and Michael Corrado. Gennaro is predeceased by his sister Michelle and his brother Rocco. He is survived by his brother Peter, his sisters Rose, Antonietta, Angelina and Maria.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM.  Funeral Mass to follow at St. James  R.C.
