George Cheselka Obituary

CHESELKA
George, beloved husband of his wife Helen, loving and devoted father of his sons George, Peter, and Paul passed away on March 25, 2016.

George is predeceased by six brothers and one sister. Surviving are his sister Anna Gaydos and many loving nieces and nephews.

George was a graduate of Long Island University and New York University. He also proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, George was President of the Certified Ingredients Corporation.

Residing in Westwood for 57 years, George was an active member in his community. He was past President of the Westwood Regional Board of Education and past President of the Westwood Board of Health. George was also an active participant in the Boy Scouts and served as a Webelos scout leader in Westwood.

George greatly enjoyed summer vacations, saltwater fishing, opera and classical music, cooking Chinese food and all family activities.

His family will receive relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, March 27 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A private funeral service will be held on Monday, March 28 at the Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Saddle Brook, NJ with burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

We are very sad to hear of the passing of our dear neighbor. For 57 years we shared neighborhood activities as well as Scouting with all our sons. A wonderful man who will be dearly missed. God Bless his family.
