George Finlay Obituary
George Finlay, 89, of Ridgewood, passed away at his home at 582 Laurel Road, Ridgewood, N.J on September 13, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy, who predeceased him in July of 2012. Loving father of David Finlay of Monmouth Beach, NJ, and Pamela and her husband Peter Ponte of Bloomingdale, NJ, and grandfather to their son, Vincent. George proudly served as a veteran in the US Army stationed in Vienna from 1946-1952 and was a graduate of both Pace University ('55) and New York University, ('70) were he earned his B.B.A and M.B.A respectively. George worked for both Western Electric, and then AT&T, retiring as an audit supervisor in 1996. He was an avid gardener, voracious reader had a love of sports and family. George participated and finished the NY Marathon from 1986 to 1996, and was a member of the Ridgewood Hobbyists. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-5 PM. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, with interment to follow in Valleau Cemetery, both in Ridgewood. feeneyfuneralhome.com

Dear David, Pamela and Families, we were saddened to learn of Dad's passing. So many fond memories of times spent together both at work and socializing at audit conferences, tennis, golf tournaments ,etc. His obituary bio speaks volumes of a life well lived indeed. We can only imagine the level of pride that the Findlay family has for their patriarch. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.
