Giorgios Hadjiyerou Obituary
HADJIYEROU
Giorgios, 82, of Bogota, NJ, restaurant owner, baker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on Monday, May 25th surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 6th, 1932 in Vatili, Cyprus. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1970 with his wife and 4 sons to give them a better life. He trained and became a baker, working at the Heritage Diner for many years and then from 1988 at the Tiffany Diner which he owned along with his sons working until his retirement in 2011.
He is predeceased by his parents, Pantelis and Eleni, sister Anthusa and brothers Phillipos, Nicos, and Vassos.
Giorgios is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maria, his sons Peter and his wife Wei, Harry and his wife Christina, Spiro and his wife Mary, and Phillip along with his loving grandchildren; Maria and George and George and Zena.
He is also survived by his sisters, Stella and Maroulla and brothers Christos and his wife Niovi, Haralambos and Andreas and his wife Angela as well as many, many nieces and nephews. Giorgios will be greatly missed by his close knit family and friends.
Viewing hours will be on Thurs., May 28th from 4-8 PM at AK Macagna Funeral Home 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Fri., May 29th at 11 AM at Ascension Greek Orthodox Church 101 Anderson Ave., Fairview, NJ. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery 500 Fairview Ave., Fairview, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Ascension Greek Orthodox Church of Fairview, NJ would be appreciated.
