James F. Allegri

James F. Allegri, 92, of Nutley, passed away June 15, 2012.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in Nutley his entire life. He was the vice president and general manager of Time Zero Corp. in Paterson, before retiring in 1999. Prior to that the Allegri family owned and operated Allegri Ice and Fuel, located in Nutley from the 1930's until they transitioned to Allegri Tech Inc. which helped to pioneer the printed circuit board industry.

He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for five years, and a survivor of the U.S.S. Borie which sunk after battle in the North Atlantic Ocean on Halloween night Oct. 31, 1943.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Florence (nee Garone); his children Dianne Kropp and her husband Michael, Jane Cerrigone and her husband Cosmo; his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and is predeceased by his brothers Charles, Frederick, and Thomas Allegri.

Friends and relatives were invited to attend a funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 19 at St. Mary's Church in Nutley, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Visiting was to be on Monday, June 18 at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St. in Montclair, caggianomemorial.com
