Ver Voorn, Janet Ruth (nee: Earl), age 88, of the Holland Christian Home in North Haledon, on Monday, July 10, 2017. Janet was a life-long resident of Hawthorne where she worked as the Administrator of Health and Welfare for the Borough until retirement. She was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church and a former member of the Rea Avenue Reformed Church in Hawthorne. Janet was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Ver Voorn (2004). Loving mother of Jan Vodde and her husband Rob of Vernon, Carol Cooper and her husband Craig of Breckenridge, CO and the late Commander Robert Ver Voorn and his wife Sue of San Diego, CA. Dear grandmother of Shaun Vodde of Manassas, VA, Dana Andro and her husband Tim of Oakland, Justin Vodde of Vernon, Stephen Camara and his wife Cheryl of CA, Chris Camara and his wife Tami of CA and Craig Camara of WA. Dearest great-grandmother of Abigail, Laila, Carter, Ryan, Rachael, Mackenzie, Kasey and Cassidy. Beloved sister of William Earl, Jr. of San Diego, CA, and the late Rosalyn DeCunzo of Ft Myers, FL. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. browningforshay.com
