Jean DEEGAN Obituary
Jean E. (nee Cheney), age 82 of Ormond Beach, FL (formerly of Dumont, NJ) entered into eternal rest peacefully and painlessly at her home in Ormond Beach.
Jean was born November 25, 1931 in Teaneck, NJ to the late Florence (nee Schaefer) and Charles Cheney. She lived in Dumont most of her married life, before moving to Ormond Beach. As a professional pianist, she delighted in entertaining patrons at many restaurants and clubs in Bergen County, NJ as well as in Ormond Beach. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Jean is predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald G. Deegan (Ret. Captain Dumont P.D.) in 2005. She was the devoted mother of Donn Deegan (Ret. Sgt. Closter P.D.) and his wife, Maria, Richard Deegan and his wife, Lorraine, and Bonnie Jean Deegan. She was the loving sister of Charles "Bud" Cheney. Jean will be sadly missed by her cherished grandchildren; Jimmy and Luke Rice, Kristen Deegan, Richard J. Deegan and his wife Kristy, and Jessica Deegan, and her great granddaughter, Kaylee Deegan. She is predeceased by her grandson, Brian Rice.
The Rev. Elaine Wing will officiate at services Friday, 9:30 AM at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Interment Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Have been thinking about Jean and just went on line to find out about her death. What a loss to family, friends and all who met Jean. We were neighbors in Goshen, NY and visited their homes as they moved, right to their lovely home in Ormond Beach. How we enjoyed both Jean and Don, hearing Jean play, visit and had many laughs and have two of Jean's beautiful paintings on our wall. Such a talented lady, we will miss her!
We are in PA now and would like to know when and where the Memorial service will be.

Jean was a very special person to me. I will cherish our times together making wonderful music. Also our chats over coffee and sweets. Her light has burnt out, but her bright spirit lives on in my memories.
