Jo-Ann, age 85, died Saturday, December 13th, 2014. Jo-Ann was born in New York City, grew up in the Bronx, and lived most of her life in Waldwick before moving to Fair Lawn. She is survived by her six children: Owen Smith and his wife, Gayle, of Bedford, NH, Evelyn Smith of Maquoketa, IA, Steven Smith of Lowden, IA, Kevin Smith and his wife, Mary, of Waldwick, NJ, Karen Smith of Strongsville, OH, and Allison Grimmett and her husband, Randall, of Studio City, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Daniel, Madison, Adeline and Ellie Jane, a sister-in-law, Barbara Krantz, of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen Smith, in 2006 and by her brother Lt. Col. Everett Krantz in 1997. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 20th at 10 AM at St. Luke's RC Church, 340 North Franklin Tpke., Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Interment at St. Luke's Cemetery.
